Hey, I just came back to purchase it after trying it with my girlfriend. I introduced this ruleset in a Pathfinder game I am running with her, as a part of a drug induced hallucination that connected her character with one of her past lifes, that happened to be a hag. She had a lof of fun looking for an heir. Her hag reconquered a swamp from a horde of mites with the help of a drake, a batallion of goblins and a few hags. One of them ended being the heir.
Thank you very much =)

I made this game on a dare. And it's free. And it's the most talked about game I've ever made. It's even be translated into Spanish. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Played my first session with my wife. Started with 4 drama points. My wife was fairly single-minded about finding an heir and we finished in 12 scenes, 45 minutes. It was very different from games my wife is used to, but we told an entertaining tale between us. For some reason I'm unable to review the game but I would say 4-stars for sure.

Glad you had fun. I think you're the first person to actually play it.

Feel free to start the game with between 1 to 4 drama points, if you want a faster game.

Cool concept. What is the effect of a 'Grand Failure' ? Is it worth 2 consequences leading to a scene involving a Dragon? I love dragons (when they're on my side).

This concept is too amusing to pass up.

This looks like a lot of fun. My concern is it could take quite a while to play. At a bear minimum one needs 9 plot points to end the game. I fear they won't add up quickly enough, especially since they can be used for other purposes as well.

My wife is eager to try a game, so I'll report back and review once we've played.

This could be a very short game the way I see it. I don't see where you came up with the number nine (but nine scenes would make for a decent game). I came up with the minimum number of scenes being four. Scene 1 (Action): The Hag visits the sea to ask a mermaid to be her successor. She asks, that's conflict, the Hag rolls a 13+ 'Overwhelming Success'. The mermaid is interested and the Hag gets two drama points. Scene 2 (Reaction): The mermaid's father hears about his daughter's plans to become a Hag and he's pissed! That's conflict, the Hag tells the father that he'll be rich and famous if his daughter becomes the new Hag. She rolls a 13+ 'Overwhelming Success' and adds two more drama points for a total of four (almost to five drama points in only two scenes). Scene 3 (Action): The Hag and Mermaid have to get past the terrible Sea Monster and get the mermaid back to the Hag's hovel in the forest. That's conflict, the Hag beats up on the terrible Sea Monster by rolling a 13+ for an 'Overwhelming Success' and adds...See more

Rolling a 13+ is really hard on 2d6. So unless the Hag is using her specialty every single scene, she's rarely going to get one, let alone two plot points. Then, she needs to spend 4 to tag an NPC as a potential heir, then 5 more to promote that potential heir to replace her. That's where my 9 came from.

Also, I would expect scenes to mostly run 5 minutes at least, except maybe hindsight. Maybe I just plan to role-play more?

I guess monologue is not going to take five minutes either, so maybe I'm over estimating.

You were very right. I didn't understand that it took an extra 4 drama points to mark an heir. I now see where your 9 minimum scene number comes from. Thanks for helping my understanding David C! Enjoy your Hag adventures : ]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
