Kolony Ground Vehicles

Kolony Ground Vehicles is a collection of 3D printable wheeled & tracked vehicles for ~28mm sci-fi miniatures. They're styled toward Corvus Belli's Infinity, but work well for a large number of sci-fi and modern miniatures wargames. The centerpiece is the Bulkhauler Landtrain, which includes several different styles of connectable cars for a unique large line-of-sight blocker. Several of the models also feature articulated arms and moveable fork lifts. There are 5 different chassis archetypes of varying sizes included, with 15 variations on those plus 11 pieces of scatter terrain!

All of the models are designed and tested to print easily on common 3D printers and look great on the tabletop. No supports are required by any of the models. Most are comprised of just a few pieces, typically the hull and wheels. All models either fit on 120mm^3 print plates or have pre-cut versions included. Printing and assembly notes for each are included in the package.

Other Kolony packages available from our publisher page include a wide variety of buildings, scatter terrain, and vehicles. Check them out!

Several free Kolony samples are available on Thingiverse and may be easily found with a quick search.

I know there's pictures for scale, but is the actual land train larger than s7/8? How tall is it by default? The runabouts look like they block s5, what about the utility truck?

PUBLISHER
Hi Corey,

The landtrain standard body is 70mm tall and the wheels raise it up about 12mm. So if you play with the common convention that the undercarriage space is considered blocked, it easily covers S7 and S8.

The assembled runabout similarly works out to ~43mm tall. So it's right on the line: An S5 could technically see/be seen over one, but in many practical cases would not be sufficiently visible to be targeted, and you could easily & reasonably declare it blocking S5 if you wish.

The utility truck with one of the rear pods placed on it is right on 55mm tall, so it will block S6.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
