The brutal, warlike Kraa’Lor had cut a swath of subjugation and destruction through a large part of the galaxy for centuries until they encountered what they believed to be a race of primitive weaklings, but were actually super-advanced opponents dedicated to peace. The Kraa’Lor didn’t learn this until their battle fleet disappeared during their initial attack. The “weaklings” had made the fleet simply never exist.

Kraa’Lor spies soon learned their opponents had mastered the secrets of temporal incursion, and schemed to wrest the power from them. Subsequently, enough of the super-advanced technology made it back Kraa and was used to build a crude time portal. Several conscripts and slaves were sent through the portal to test it. Many of those who returned told tales of a planet that didn’t match any of the descriptions the Kraa’Lor spies sent back.

Kraa’Lor intelligence operatives went through the portal and learned that the portal didn’t allow travel through time, but space, and had taken them to a planet that seemed much more easily conquered, on which the inhabitants were even prone to fight amongst themselves.

But the inventors of the technology knew what the Kraa’Lor were up to, and knew they had discovered a new world to conquer. They decided to help this young race fight off the warlords by training selected natives in their tech and knowledge and returning them to use the new weapons against the Kraa’Lor however they saw fit.

The Benefactors (as they came to be known) now oversee their charges in a proxy war begun by the Kraa’Lor centuries prior, but which may finally end on a faraway planet called Earth.

S.E.V.E.N. — Specially-Equipped Vanguard, Emergency Neutralization is a system-agnostic mini-campaign inspired by a “backdoor pilot” episode of the World’s Most Famous Science Fiction TV Show (whose name rhymes with “car wreck”), S.E.V.E.N. offers players the opportunity to become clandestine operatives armed with super-advanced devices and pitted against unimaginable dangers to our world.

S.E.V.E.N offers:

• Discussions on the campaign’s backstory, setting, and scientific rigor, while allowing the GM the freedom and imagination to adjust any to suit his or her campaign vision.
• An overview of the types of heroes that the campaign best supports.
• A brief discussion of the disparate technologies, including two new pieces of hardware specifically designed to advance plotlines.
