Morningstar: The Triumvirate Pacts is a science fiction/fantasy roleplay game in which Players can use magic, technology or raw strategy in order to achieve their goals. Set in a backdrop of the search for harmony throughout Known Space, take up the mantel of a Morningstar Order and bring justice to the Galaxy... or use your autonomy to further your own ends.

With a unique system to track your Renown and Infamy, and a new way to measure the different types of XP your exploits will earn you, this 133 page Rlebook will allow you to take part in epic adventures on a Galactic scale.

There are 8 playable Species to choose from, based on legendary and modern myth, and brought to life for you to experience now.

Known Space – the galaxy as discovered over the past five thousand years, is populated by many peoples previously thought only to be the stuff of legend. The older species such as the Barathum and the Lumine have explored space for many millennia before the humans of Gaia could make contact with their stellar neighbours. Originally thought by the younger Species to be demons and angels respectively, their hand has guided many cultures in unlocking their potential, whether through scientific development or the use of advanced Magic. The mysterious Vharcoli have too spent their time secretly interacting with species they perceive to be more primitive than themselves, whose life-force they believe to be a justifiable source of sustenance. Their mastery of Magic along with a keen understanding of studying advanced technological systems, without being fettered by the constraints of morality, have led to their reputation as useful friends and fearsome enemies. The strong and noble Bhedi – a people connected to the land they occupy in a way that science has never been able to explain - have only in the last century taken to the skies once more, their traditions previously forbbiding them from intervening with the natural contact made between other Species. The Faier,  the gentle and whimsical folk eponymous with the fairy-stories of old, have moved from world to world seeking safety and their own place in the Galaxy. The flying discs of the Cobalar still haunt the skies, a reminder of this insular people’s presence as they expand and progress an agenda known only to themselves, often bringing chaos and destruction in their wake. Along with the discovery of the outer planets, the rise of technology has led to the self-aware bio-mechanoid Lavorari being recognised as a life-form in their own right. Their nano-technology has reached the pinnacle of development in constructing entirely synthetic planet-sized replication platforms. These platforms are said to be a haven for any visitors who do not pose a threat to the advancement of the Lavorari’s sentience.

Whilst there are many areas of the galaxy recognised to be Common Space where many different species interact, trade and co-exist, there are also a seemingly incalculable number of intergalactic alliances, sects and colonial empires that rise (and fall) at any given point. The most stable and notable factions that are so far withstanding the test of time are those who serve a clear purpose for the destiny of the galaxy, it’s inhabitants, and the forces of magic that bind them all together. These Triumvirate Pacts, whilst seen as a hindrance by some, are truly believed by their followers to be the best hope for the future of all peoples within Known Space. Whichever opinion is held as to how the Triumvirate operates, it is certain that those who work with or against them directly or indirectly have made a marked impression upon the history, and therefore the fate, of the galaxy. This is their story.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
