TRINITY Integrated Carrier Trinity is an integrated carrier that consists of a pair of medium-sized cruisers that can operate independently or dock with the primary hull for extended range, increased power, and enhanced FTL capabilities. The two cruisers are referred to as Trinity Alpha and Trinity Omega, or as “Tines” because the combined ship is vaguely trident shaped. Each cruiser can carry a crew of 70 plus half a dozen fighters and a trio of armored personnel carriers. The forward half of the primary hull (aka Trinity Prime) is nearly identical to the Tines and shares the same deckplans. The back end, however, has expanded facilities and extended systems with long-range missions in mind. Each section of the ship also carries a large number of multi-purpose drop pods...

ATLAS Dropship The goal of the ConFederation’s “Project Atlas” was to build a dropship for soldiers and mechs. The Meridian variant was the primary focus of the contract - a spherical “tail lander” designed to haul a lance of four massive combat mechs plus the personnel and supplies needed to maintain a forward base in support of the squad. To recoup costs and expand market share two additional designs were spun off from Meridian and developed for the civilian sector. The first was the Europa-class freighter, which essentially emptied out the mech bays for cargo space and used the excess overhead to double up the pre-existing munitions deck for even more cargo. The final variant - designated “Pangea” - filled the lower section of the spherical craft with cabins, suites, a...

CHIMAERUS  Integrated Transport Chimaerus [ kī-mĕr′ĭs ] is an adventurer-oriented medium sized vessel that is made up of three independent ships:         • Leaena (the Lion) - the main body of the ship, holding the living quarters, medical, and FTL systems. This is the largest of the three sections and also serves as a command & control center for the small fleet.         • Krios (the Ram) - a boxy freighter that is little more than a long hold with a small cabin and flight deck on top. When docked it sits between the forward mandibles of the main hull and serves as the primary cargo hold for Chimaerus.         • Drakon (the Dragon) - an armored drop ship or sturdy passenger shuttle. It docks facing rearward at the tail end of the Leaena hull with it’s turret serving as a t...

CERVANTES  Light Frigate The Cervantes-class is a light frigate designed to carry a crew of about 20; typically 4 to 8 working crew plus a complement of marines. The ship is meant for patrol and escort duties either alone or in concert with similar craft. Well-armed for its size - Cervantes is durable and easy to repair, and comes in two distinct versions unimaginatively dubbed the V1 and V2. Version 1 is laid out horizontally, using anti-grav technology to make “down” a constant 1 G towards the belly of the ship. The three long decks are laid out like a large aircraft or boat. The Cervantes-V1 has landing skids on its ventral side and uses gravitic technology - plus some vectored thrust assistance - for smooth VTOL operations. The second version of Cervantes is built vertically and...

Sengdao 3 Small Ships This issue of the Codex presents a trio of small ships that vary greatly in both style and intended use. All are perfect for a small group of starfarers just starting out or looking for a new ride. Sengdao is a high-end transport, considered a yacht by some, originally created by the TerraNovan Theocracy to spread the Lux Aeternum throughout, and beyond, civilized space. Sleek and stylish, with five cabins and enough room to carry up to seven crew and passenger in comfort; she’s well armed for a ship of her size and has space for some cargo as well. The SNV Prospector is a working ship made to mine and transport metal ore. Industrial and rugged, this vessel epitomizes the “form follows function” design mentality. There’s room for four crew but not a lot ...

Cavalo Cargo Shuttle The Cavalo-class of cargo shuttles were designed by TriWorld Transport (a division of Trinity Exocorp) under military contract to carry industry standard cargo containers. Depending on the type of container slotted, a Cavalo can serve as a simple freight hauler, passenger carrier, prisoner transport, or weapons platform. Additional containers have been developed to serve as everything from office space, to medical facilities, to living quarters. There is no end to the variety of roles these shuttles could potentially fulfill. The lightly-armed Cavalo (Portuguese for “horse”) comes in three varieties: a small version that carries a single HMT-225 container, and two larger variants that haul either one or two of the big HMT-337 containers. The variants are d...

KAGEKUMO Salvage Ship The Kagekumo (or “Shadow spider”) class is a salvage ship. Though ostensibly designed for commercial use, this large industrial craft has become a favorite of pirates and reavers. The vessel is designed to secure and dismantle derelicts, or soon-to-be-derelicts, quickly and efficiently. She is equipped with massive harpoons fore and aft to capture and tow disabled prey, plus fold-out scaffolding studded with tractor beams and cutting lasers to embrace, immobilize, and dissect. A cadre of salvage drones can assist with disassembly or help bring down stubborn targets. She carries a standard crew of 46, though this can easily vary by plus or minus 20. In addition to the Kagekumo-class heavy salvage ship, two variants are also presented: the Mukade (Centip...

Nightingale Trio Small Ships This issue of the Codex presents another trio of small ships that vary greatly in both style and intended use. All are utility vehicles to add life to your campaign or to provide a ready-made ride for your heroes, villains, or working-class supporting cast trying to get by. The Nightingale medical transport is a first responder for heavy casualty events - whether it be a civilian disaster or a military engagement. The ship has two surgery bays plus sixteen medical cryo-chambers to hold casualties for future treatment. She carries a pair of ambulance shuttles and has bunks for up to eight crew. There’s also a military “Nighthawk” medivac version and a covert, well-armed “Nightshade” version for use as a prisoner transport. With a crew of 2 to 4...

XUAN WU Leisure Transport The purpose of the Xuan Wu line of leisure transports is to provide comfortable accommodations and a variety of entertainment facilities for about 50 passengers in a mid-sized ship. Aves Engineering originally developed the craft under military contract as an armored transport. After the war, the design was modified to cater to civilian clientele. A single Armadillo-class shuttle pod is carried, as are half a dozen life boats. The large cargo bay could easily be used as a hangar if desired, but is more often used exclusively for cargo (including the ubiquitous HMT containers) and luggage. The standard crew includes a dozen human personnel plus a cadre of robotic servitors. The Xuan Wu package contains three highly detailed, layered PDF files: • Mai...

Still others may process nothing but wealth and power as corporate outposts or crime syndicate headquarters. These stations have room for a hundred personnel and boast a variety of facilities to suit a wide range of duties. The Crucible package contains several highly detailed, layered PDF files:       • Main Book               - 19 page PDF file detailing the station and interior areas.               - Contains several 3D rendered scenes as well as orthographic views.   ...

SCARAB Bulk Hauler The Scarab-class freighter is named for the squat, sturdy shape of its hull and its rugged endurance. It is just a coincidence that the original scarab is a species of “dung beetle” and this class of ship is often employed moving garbage and other unseemly cargos. The extended-hull version of the ship is known as the Kiboko-class, which is a Swahili word for hippo (a reference to its bulk and ungainly nature outside of the void). Both are cheap and dependable, though lacking in amenities. Each carries a crew of 2 to 12 and is designed to haul large quantities of everything from cargo crates, to shipping containers, to ore, trash, and even liquids like fuel or water. The components built into these ships are about a decade behind “state of the art”. Using older de...

Originally designed as a hunter-killer for the military but ultimately employed as police interceptors and high-end racing yachts, these sleek ships are built for speed. For the private market, the utilitarian military interior has been remodeled with luxury accommodations and components have been upgraded with cutting edge technology. No expense is spared, making a Kintar -class yacht a status symbol as well as a top tier racing machine. This issue also includes the Tachikaze-class police interceptor. Developed in parallel, it uses the same hull design and general layout as Kintaro but lacks the luxury d...

RENEGADE Corsair The Renegade class of starships was designed as a multipurpose vessel capable of hauling cargo, moving passengers, exploration, reconnaissance, and light combat duty. As with many such designs the ship is adequate for a variety of roles but particularly excels at none. The small crew requirement and ease of maintenance have made the Renegade popular with independent captains and smugglers on a tight budget. During the war, the class earned a reputation as a capable corsair – able to efficiently engage targets of opportunity and then easily return to their normal duties. The Renegade package contains three highly detailed, layered PDF files: Main Book 15 page PDF file detailing this class of ship, its interior areas, and two carried vehicles. Praetorian Patrol Boat This project presents the Praetorian-class patrol boat. Based on the old Grendel-class transport, this version is larger, heavily armed, and well equipped for exploration and combat. The ship has seven individual cabins plus eight more bunks divided between a pair of dorms or barracks. This allows for a standard crew of 4 to 7 plus a contingent of marines, passengers, or additional crew. Praetorian has a small cargo hold, a shuttle bay, and an aft “garage” area. She comes standard with a K-6 passenger shuttle in the bay and a Stratos 7000 air car in the garage. Other amenities include a brig, tactical information center, and techshop with a medical table. Weapons range from a trio of turrets, two large front-mounted guns, to side-mounted torpedo launchers...

Hikari General Transport The Hikari class general transport is a rugged and affordable entry-level ship for aspiring captains. Though they are produced and sold by the Sendai Corporation (a front for the notorious House Suyama crime family), the ships are legal and a good value - just be careful if the salesman offers financing at rates that sound too good to be true. The Hikari line consists of two variants, each named for a breed of Koi. The Hikari Utsuri is the standard configuration. It includes a sizable cargo bay and a couple of cabins for potential passengers. There are bunks for a crew of two to six. The Hikari Muji replaces most of the cargo hold with additional passenger cabins, bringing the total ship’s complement to five crew and a rather crowded eighteen passenge...

Jinda Wolf Corvette The latest addition to the “Wolves of Albion” line is the Jinda Wolf class of corvettes - small, sleek warships designed for patrol and escort duties. The Jinda Wolves are well armed and armored for ships of their size. In addition to half a dozen turrets, each has two pairs of heavier fixed-forward guns plus a weapons bay full of either anti-ship missiles or air-to-ground bombs. Each carries up to fourteen crew and an armored personnel carrier in the hold. Though built with the military in mind, a Jinda Wolf could instead serve as a high-end and heavily armed civilian vessel, mercenary, or pirate ship. Eight of the fourteen bunks are in a single barracks room which could instead be used for guests or prisoners - leaving the remaining six beds (divided be...

Omega-Zed Slaver “Omega-Zed” is a salvaged and rebuilt Lelantos-Omega class ship; originally designed for the ConFederation military but now used by slavers to hunt and transport anyone unlucky enough to cross their path. The original Omega is a variant of the Lelantos-Alpha first seen in the “Talon” issue of Future Armada. The Omega is a wingless version designed as a mobile command & control center. It has some specialized facilities and multi-purpose dormitory rooms that also allow it to function as a medical unit, troop transport, or detention center as needed. Full-sized maps for the clean, pre-salvaged Lelantos-Omega C&C ship are included. Omega-Zed is the result of gutting and rebuilding one of these command and control ships to serve as a slave transport. It c...

Arikara Marauder The “Arikara” variant is an unregistered modification of the popular Tomahawk-class armed courier (from the Lakota issue of Future Armada). This custom build was cobbled together by the Raevyn Marauders - a loose syndicate of raiders, pirates, and scavengers. The plans have been shared amongst the clans and so the sight of an approaching Arikara is cause for alarm among civilian captains and law enforcement alike. Though it lacks the distinctive wing-mounted engines and stabilizers of the Tomahawk, this design adds both a detachable upper deck and a ventral breaching bore. Dubbed the “Akira” class runabout, the detached upper level can operate as an attack shuttle independent of the main hull while the breaching bore facilitates hostile ship-to-ship takeovers...

Ziyad Patrol Boat “Ziyad” is a multi-function military ship derived from the Seraphim-class escort frigate. She is the first of her kind and so the line as a whole is also known as the Ziyad-class. They were jointly designed and deployed after the end of the Nexan War, when old Earth and the TerraNovan Theocracy united against the Umbral Empire. As with many “new” designs dating from that tumultuous period, they adapt and reuse existing technology as much as possible to cut development time and get new ships into space as quickly as possible. Ziyad was developed to serve as a patrol boat – operating independently or in pairs as an early warning system or law enforcement vessel. She carries a crew of 18 plus a platoon of 13 marines and a pair of boarding shuttles. The ship is ...

Exeter B Tramp Freighter / Troop Transport Exeter is a rugged, Durance-class cargo ship that supports a crew of 4 to 8. She comes with a shuttle as well as a all-terrain buggy; is well armed for when things get rough, and carries a complement of escape pods as a last resort. With a spacious cargo bay and a 10-cabin passenger deck, this ship has something for everyone and room to grow. The original Exter has been extended and improved so now she’s even better than before. Originally constructed by Dosojin Transport Inc., the vessel spent thirty years in routine corporate service before being sold to the Exeter family. With her designation changed from “Dosojin VI” to “Exeter’s Folly”, and later just “Exeter”, this rugged vessel spent another two decades as a private merchant ru...

Talarion Explorer Years ago, Project Quicksilver developed the Mercury prototype as part of a Human/Cyntek joint venture to blend the best technologies of both nations. The result was an elegant ship with impressive abilities, but one within which most human crew were not comfortable. Recently the engineers of the New Albion Shipyards were given the task of “humanizing” the design. Capitalizing on the lessons learned with the prototype, they rebuilt the craft using purely Terran technologies and redesigned the interior along the lines of more standard ConFederation ships. The endeavor to rework the Mercury prototype was dubbed “Project Hermes” and the result is the Talarion-class of starships (named for the winged sandals worn by the god). With a focus on technology and ample...

CYNTEK Common Craft The Cyntek are a post-human culture that has evolved into a mostly synthetic state. They have developed advanced technology, especially in the realms of cybernetics, computing, and energy-based physics. While still humanoid and generally human-sized, there is a huge amount of variety in the Cyntek: from human-seeming, to fully robotic, to disembodied consciousness existing only in the digital realm. Though their history and culture is laid out in this document, it is expected that the Cyntek and their ships will be replaced by whatever races inhabit your particular game setting. Three common Cyntek craft are included in this product. The first is the Axion-class freighter - designed to haul a lot of cargo, a few passengers, and little else. It does, howeve...

V'lar Common Craft The V’lar are a race of jellyfish-like aliens who typically travel about attached to a humanoid host whom they puppet via filaments insinuated into the host’s nervous system. Their ships are a hybrid design utilizing common technological elements (such as engines and weapons) built into an organically grown hull. It is expected that the V’lar will be replaced by whatever alien races inhabit your particular game setting and that the ships will be used for fully biological, plant, or even undead craft in addition to hybrid designs. The PDF documents include renderings and orthographic views to support these alternate themes. Three common V’lar ship types are included in this product. First up is the Coleoptera-class cargo ship, commonly called the “Beetle” due t...

What is the difference between the Armada Codex and the Future Armada. Obviously, for the most part, they are different ships (both have an Exeter) but are they intended to be at different tech levels or do the blueprints go into different levels of detail or is there some other philosophy at work in determining what ships go in which collection? Or is it a simple matter of creating a collection and then deciding to create more designs, which became another collection?

The Armada Codex is the sequel to Future Armada. The latter was created many years earlier, it references the "D20 Future" OGL rules for stats and focuses on a single instance of a given ship - with brief details about a specific crew and history. The Armada Codex is newer, it presents generic stats and Starfinder sheets and presents a class of ships as a more generic whole (so no NPC stats or backstories about specific crews). The Codex also uses layered PDFs, higher resolution base art, and other minor advances in tech that have come about in the last ten years.

New issues of the Codex are being created but the Future Armada line is "done" at 20 issues (though updates to existing issues may still occur as needed). The posters and miniatures are pretty much the same for either, and Starfinder stat sheets have been created for most of the Future Armada ships at this point at well.

Would you be willing to sell the various elements you use (tiles/textures/objects) so that others can create items that are similarly themed as your products?
I have created MGT2 (traveller) stats for all your ships and I have top town views/elements for all the standard Traveller ships. I would love to be able to keeps the same look/feel as you have created with your products. Or, barring that, I can provide the seven views of different traveller ships (top, bottom, left, right, front, back, isometric) for a series of ships and see if you can produce a series of vtt maps that work. Reach out to me if you are interested.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
