Inspired by a rising movement of solo and cooperative games, Slugfest! offers players a full and immersive super skirmish game experience. This D20-based rule set features detailed, but accessible character creation, comprehensive power and skill lists, exciting combat, and a detailed campaign system where your battles become issues in a comic book series featuring your characters as the stars! This book comes complete with three mini-series worth of story material and dozens of sample characters. All you need to play are a couple of twenty-sided dice, a standard deck of playing cards, and a handful of appropriate miniatures. I already own Superhero Mission Force, and I am planning to get Athwart Time, for the solo rules. However, I am a sucker for a narrative game so love scenarios and campaigns. So here are the question.
Could you play Slugfest scenario with SMF, is it easy to change states etc between the two games. Thanks.

I think you could pretty easily adapt the scenarios from Slugfest over to SMF. Contact me through my contact form on Four-Color Studios and I will send you a free copy of one of the adventure supplements for I did for Slugfest. That will give you a good idea if you can adapt the material in the main book.

I have been adapting them to my latest skirmish super rules project, Super Skirmish Gaming, which will use a 3D6 system.

You can get it on Lulu in the UK. I have a number of customers from the UK and Europe who have purchased POD copies on Lulu.

The file settings differ between Lulu and Drivethru, and I have not yet gotten my layout guy to change the files over for Drivethru.

It uses a different Solo / Co-Op system that is akin to Rangers of the Shadow Deep in its mechanics. While both games have scenarios that sometimes dictate a model's actions, Slugfest relies on a single decision tree for all models, while Athwart Time uses the model's Archetype to drive its in-game behavior. I am a big fan of Super Mission Force, and this game looks right up my alley. A couple of quick questions: What kind/how much terrain is needed for the included missions? What kind/how many minis are needed for the required enemy forces?

Thanks! It varies pretty widely from series to series. There are three series of three issues each, and two one shots. An issue = 1 scenario or game session.

Most issues play out on a 3' x 3' board. If you have a handful of trees (5 - 6), boulders (5 - 6), and some building blocks or a Jenga set, you will be well served.

The opening issue of the first series does require four buildings, but you can use simple boxes to represent them.

If you have some appropriately sized cars, those will be helpful too.

As for minis, you will need your team of 3 - 6 mnis. You will need any number of other super-types:

-- Super-Man equivalent
-- 6 robots
-- 1 big robot
-- 4 mutated humanoid monster types
-- Armored Warlord type
-- 2 Velociraptors
-- 10 civilians

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
