WHICH PRODUCT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Below are some details on the PDF and Print on Demand options available to you, which might help you to choose which product is right for you.

The Watermarked PDF is what we refer to as the Digital Edition. The watermark is very small and appears at the very bottom of every page on the left hand side. It will show your account name and an order number; it will not block or cover any of the text inside the book. The pages have a white background.

The Hardcover, Premium Color Book is what we refer to as the Collector’s Edition. It has a collector’s badge on the front cover and a gold spine effect. The pages inside are printed in full colour with a background on premium paper. The book has a glossy hardback cover. Please note: There is not a Collector’s Edition of the Watermarked PDF, and so if you choose the “Watermarked PDF + Hardcover, Premium Color Book” option, the PDF you download does not have the full colour background.

The Hardcover, Standard Color Book is what we refer to as the Hardback Edition. It has a standard badge on the front cover and a blue spine. The pages inside are printed in colour on a white background and on white paper. The book has a glossy hardback cover.

The Softcover, Standard Color Book is what we refer to as the Softback Edition. It has a standard badge on the front cover and a blue spine. The pages inside are printed in colour on a white background and on white paper. The book has a glossy softback cover.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: At times the print on demand books will need to be updated and may be temporarily withdrawn from the product range. This process can take a few months to complete, and will become available as soon as the update is complete. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

In addition to my other supportive comments, I can add for this book specifically, that it is slightly more page count, not a great lot more, but just thought I'd ad it is a bit beefier than the other tomes.

All in all, I can only hope that D100 Dungeon continues to invent new content and adventures.

As a side note though, don't amalgamate any of the tomes. A combination product might SEEM 'neat', but I like the sizes of the books actually.
When I compare them to my recent purchases of D&D Rules Cyclopedia and DMG from 1st AD&D as well as my 4th edition Warhammer FRP, well, it's nice to have books that don't weigh several pounds :) Light is nice, and makes them easier to carry around for some 'game anywhere I want' potential. And THAT is a nice option in as much as I CAN just sit down in a cafe and play some on a minimal table.

Thank you Lesley for the nice comment. I also agree about the amalgamation of the books.Whilst it might seem appealing to some, it would be a heavy thick tome; and as I do plan on adding more content, if an amalgamation was made at this time, it would soon be redundant due to the new content.

Have you considered doing a consolidated index of the volumes?
Something along the lines of entries like 'Settlement Actions - Vol I pg 12, Vol III pg 11,27'?

Hey Martin, question about Martial Artistry. Are the Martial Mastery Moves and Strikes meant to replace your attack or do you get them in exchange for taking a penalty to your MA for an advanced weapon attack? If it's the latter, does the attack have to be successful to gain the move/strike? Some of the bonuses, like Cobra Strike and Unbalance/Sweep reference a successful attack, but the others don't. Thanks.

Hi Brent the rules state that You can use Martial Artistry whenever your adventurer is in combat and may use its value in place of any other attack value. So you use MA as a replacement to your normal combat attack. If you choose a moves and strikes from the moves and strike table, the MV penalty is applied to the attack roll and the feature/benefit of the move is only applied if the attack is successful. Successful attacks deal damage too, which may be affected by a move or strike feature.

Thanks for the reply, Martin. Does that mean that for Shadow Dance and other moves that give you re-rolls on escaping, it's for escape tests using MA? Normally you forfeit your attack to roll escape combat or block escape tests.

Follow-up question, does that also mean escape test moves are exempt from the rule about the roll needing to be successful? Shadow Dance lets you re-roll a failed escape test, but if I fail the escape test, then I don't get to apply the move...

Yes you would still forfeit your MA attack or standard attack, in favor of making a MA based escape test. Same would apply for blocking an escape.

Indeed so, you would fail and then get to re-roll the stated number of times if you fail.

Thanks, Mark. Last question about this, I promise! :)
For "Attack & Throw" and "Throw" is that additional damage on top of the attack damage?

Yes the additional damage is on top of the attack damage, you completed the attack and assign damage and then roll 1d6 and assign further damage.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
