100 Witches

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Build your world with exciting NPCs that bring color and character to your party and your game. Whether you're building a coven, or a helpful hag in the woods, this list has witches aplenty to offer for your players to encounter. This list includes plenty of witches good, bad and neutral. Some are helpful, and some simply want to watch the world burn. Perhaps the friendly kitchen witch that runs the village bakery is secretly poisoning the townsfolk, or the initially frightening blood witch is actually protecting the town from the plague. Don't let appearances fool you, as these witches are all more than they seem!

Here are some sample results:

  • Liestra: When the red moon climbs into the inky sky, shutter your windows and bar your doors. Liestra prowls the night in search of hapless prey, whether in the form of livestock or villagers. Her claws silence the victim's screams by slashing the throat. So quick, there is barely a whisper to sound the alarm. Only in the light of day is the spilled blood found, revealing that once again, Liestra has struck. In her foul homestead, she drains the body of all blood, then boils the body until the bones fall away. She combines the bone and blood in her cursed cauldron for her wicked magic that keeps her living for yet another year.
  • Driadrikal: The jungle is an unforgiving place, and adventurers that venture into the steaming wilds best beware. Hidden among the vines and ferns is the homestead of Driadrikal the Herbologist. The plants that grow round her cottage are made to maim and poison all who dare to trespass. An emerald and a cone of salt must be placed at her gate to be granted safe passage. Once inside, bartering for her legendary potions, cures and rare plants is a task not for the faint of heart. She does not take kindly to trickery, greed or false-flattery. It's best to simply pay what she asks and be grateful to leave with both your new treasure and your life.
  • Orlenyss: Dolphins are friendly creatures that oft come to the aid of shipwrecked sailors, and fishers who venture too far out to sea. These intelligent beings are at the beck and call of the sea witch, Orlenyss the Wise. She lives in a grotto that can only be found by creatures and travelers who can breathe underwater. There, she crafts new life for the vast ocean. Sleek and shining creatures of sparkling beauty, or hideous hodgepodge monsters that patrol the deep. Her dolphins bring her odds and ends for her work, as well as delicious fish to energize their fair queen. In return, they are kept safe from battering squalls and ferocious monsters, as they bear her mark and are immune to danger.
  • Tulanrenae: The Mother Moon knows her children and sends her blessings down from the velvet sky. One such daughter is Tulanrenae the Bright. Though she is blind, her fingers are enchanted to help her see the world. She creates beautiful tapestries that detail great battles and victories that have yet come to pass. Kings oft send their knights to search for Tulanrenae and return with a fortune from her loom. The price to pay for her beautiful visions is oft hefty and odd. No two quests are alike, as the requested items allow Tulanrenae to "see" yet another part of the world through these gathered treasures.
  • Maplesun: In the bustling town of Cobblesend is the best bakery in the known world. Traders make small fortunes ferrying the scrumptious treats to neighboring towns and villages, but the best way to experience them is fresh out of the oven. The master baker is Maplesun, a burly witch that sprinkles small spells into each confection. They love to spread joy, love and goodwill with their bread and treats; no tricks here. A Heart's Hearth Cookie will set you back in gold, but it will win the heart of the sweetie you've had your eye on. Bring warmth and safety into your home with a hearty loaf of Homestead Bread. But be warned, the treats must be eaten before three days pass, otherwise the spell dries up and leaves but ordinary pastries and bread.

A solid collection, and a great second supplement from the author. Looking forward to seeing what she puts out next! [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
