100 Modern Street Encounters II (DS&DS)

This supplement has 100 encounters characters could have in the dark city in Dark Streets & Darker Secrets. In keeping with the game's darker theme, these encounters will be appropriately dark in some way. There may be criminal activities going on, violence, both deliberate and random, and dark plots by sinister groups. Many of the encounters allow characters to roll to determine the truth; in some they may have to delve deeper to find out what's really going on. The encounters can be used to enliven a city street or as a source of potential adventure hooks. It is a heavily modified version of 100 More Events for a Modern Street.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

• Event: A number of streets are closed off to traffic for a small festival. There are crowds of people drinking, eating and attending various events going on in the area and there are many stalls selling food and drink. Most of the attendees are exactly what they appear to be, but there are a number of Elves scattered through the crowd luring people away.
• Event: Several hundred people carrying placards have gathered in a protest outside a building. The people all appear, with a Difficulty 3 Intellect test, to be acting in an oddly uniform way. They have been enthralled by either science or magic in order to carry out the protest.
• Event: Streets have been closed off and lined by Police Officers as several thousand people march down the street carrying banners and placards and chanting. Hidden among the crowd are a dozen Cultists who intend to turn the protest violent in order to sacrifice people to their deity.
• Fancy Dress: A group of people dressed in various costumes appear to be on a fancy-dress night out. The people are actually Vampires; one 4 HD Vampire is leading a group of six 2 HD Young Vampires on a hunt.
• Farm Vehicle: A tractor is driving down the road and traffic is building up behind it. A Difficulty 6 Intellect test will notice what look like spatters of blood on the tractor.
