Notable Novices and Notorious Newcomers

Notable Novices and Notorious Newcomers is as set of optional tables for Old-School Essentials and is compatible with similar clones of the Original, B/X or BECMI editions of the classic fantasy role-playing game.

This e-zine offers three sets of tables:

Who Are You?, which gives a reason why the party quickly welcomes a new party member, such as when a replacement character is rolled mid-session.

What's Your Story?, which provides the previous adventuring career of a freshly rolled character that is level 2 or higher.

The Looted Items table, provides the magic items they've looted during such adventures, and has different columns based on character class.

These tools and tables aim at providing quick, interesting details and at injecting more story into the campaign. Sometimes the results are simple and bear little or no consequence; sometimes a result may produce a significant change in the character’s story.

Notable Novices and Notorious Newcomers comes as two files: a PDF designed for screens, and another designed for print-at-home on A4 paper, with easy instructions to print, fold and staple/sew it to make a nice little zine-like booklet.
