This is a hard genre to make a game for, but 3rd Edition Boot Hill does a great job.

Just received my soft cover, color DTRPG copy. I was greatly surprised at the quality of the book, well worth the cost as compared to the original versions you can buy on line. I really appreciated the section in the book giving historical & non-historical character attributes. The one drawback (which DTRPG) tells you up-front are that the maps are 8.5" x 11" pages in the back of the book and not separate full size copies.

I bought the reprinted softcover, color, book and I am amazed how much like the original this looks. I don't know why I expected something of a lesser degree than the original but it didn't seem possible I guess. I also bought a couple of the Boothill modules and they are of high quality as well! I will definately be buying more product from DriveThruRPG.

The print copy is great, very sharp printing (very readable.) This version (3e) is my favorite, the rules are easy to grasp, there is a skill/task system and combat system; once you learn these then the game is easy (and fun) to play. People who like roleplaying more than game mechanics would probably appreciate this game. Personally, I got a few sets of 15mm mineatures and use them for gameplay, it adds a fun element to the game when it's time for a gunfight or ambush.

Just recieved my new print copy of Boot Hill. It's better bound than the stapled books of the 80s. I love having this old classic back.

So happy to see this back in print. I'm not even going to call it the best rule system or best Western game, but there are just so few straight Westerns out there that it kind of wins by default. I have fond memories of playing Boot Hill as a kid after we'd get bored with D&D. That must have been 2nd edition BH though as it was early/mid 80's.
